2022-23 School Year Community Service Events Accomplished -Volunteered at GHS Holiday Craft Night - Making ornaments for LHS staff for the holiday season - Knitting/crocheting items for a local homeless shelter - Offered a December Crafternoon to all LHS students/staff - Silent Auction Fundraiser of NAHS member artwork - Taught a local daycare preschool class a Valentine’s Day craft - Volunteered at an Elementary School Reading Days - Created the Tetlow Relay Tee Shirt Design - Created a mental health banner for the guidance office - Created "Hearts for Homes" magnets then sold them to donate back to - Helped create visual aids for numerous teachers at LHS to help beautify their classrooms - Ag Carnival- creating decorations, attending to face paint - Memory Project for children in Cameroon - Offered a Spring Crafternoon to all LHS students/staff - Created a large backdrop for the Guidance Signing Day event for seniors showing their plans after high school -Planning and preparing to run Arts Night 2023
2021-22 School Year Community Service Events Accomplished - Created Thanksgiving cards for LHS staff - Held a free winter themed "crafternoon" event for all LHS students and staff - Painted wood ornaments for all LHS staff - Did ongoing "sprucing up" around LHS for staff and teachers including: Poster creation Mural for Ms. Murray Window and stool painting for Ms. Ballestrini Room 302 mural Room 301 mural/decoration Mrs. Kane's desk -Held a free Valentine's themed "crafternoon" event for all LHS students and staff -Made Valentines (cards, bookmarks, origami) for all LHS staff -Memory Project for children in Sierra Leone -Created ceramic bowls and sold them to raise money for a local food bank -Designed coloring pages for collaboration with Ag Science -Painted set pieces for musical production "Newsies" -Planning and preparing to run Arts Night 2022
2019-20 School Year Community Service Events Accomplished - Created decorations for Ledyard's Central Office Magic School Bus theme at the Ledyard Trunk or Treat in October - Taught an art lesson to students at the Gallup Hill School's Art Day - Helped create the set and costumes for the school's fall musical "Into the Woods" - Held a free fall themed "crafternoon" event for all LHS students and staff - Made handmade holiday cards for all faculty and staff in the month of December - Created 20 portraits of orphans in Malaysia and donated $350 to the Memory Project - Created stickers inspired by Jenna Foltz's poetry as part of a fundraiser to raise money for a scholarship in her name. NAHS helped raise over $250 through the sale of the handmade stickers. - Created a digitally-drawn design for FFA to sell as a fundraiser - Created a map of Ledyard for the 2019-20 Yearbook
2018-19 School Year Community Service Events Accomplished - Held a free, fall themed crafternoon event for all LHS students and staff - Held a free, winter themed crafternoon event for all LHS students and staff - Painted 120 glass ornaments and gifted them to LHS faculty and staff for the holiday season - Visited the Ledyard Senior Center and helped members of the Ledyard community create Valentines Day wreaths - Held a free, valentines day crafternoon event for all LHS students and staff - Created an interactive display called "Bookflix" in the LHS library to help promote reading - Tee shirt design for LEAF fundraiser: LPS staff vs Harlem Wizards basketball game - Taught an art lesson to 2nd grade students at the Gallup Hill School's Art Day - Created 14 PBIS Celebration positivity posters for Gales Ferry School student to color - Taught an art lesson to middle school students, to help promote interests in the visual arts
2017-18 School Year Community Service Events Accomplished - Raised over $300 selling handmade ceramic bowls for the local United Way - Created and distributed 120 hand-painted ornaments to all LHS faculty and staff members - Held a "crafternoon" for unified students during the holiday season - Raised over $1,100 selling hand-drawn calendars for the 2018 year. A majority of the proceeds will fund art-based community service in the Ledyard Community - Donated $100 worth of arts and crafts supplies to Yale Children's Hospital - Taught an art lesson to 3rd grade students at the Gallup Hill School's Art Day - Created the Vans Custom Culture Competition shoes for Ledyard High School's entry to the competition - Hosted a free Mother's Day "Crafternoon" at LHS for student and faculty to paint a planter and plant a flower - Funded and painted an FFA logo mural in the Ag-Science wing of LHS - Funded and painted a mural in the LHS media center for the LEAF granted fitbikes - Raised $150 for the LHS Bee Keeping club to help buy sugar for the hives on the LHS campus - Painted a wood rocking chair for Bradley International Airport as a way to promote Ledyard, CT to all those who use BDL
2016-17 School Year Community Service Events Accomplished - Set painting for "Blithe Spirit" Ledyard High School fall production - Created holiday cards for LHS Staff - Wrestling Senior Night posters - Painted Step Stools for Mystic Valley Hunt Club IEA Program - Tee shirt design for LEAF fundraiser: LPS staff vs Harlem Wizards basketball game - Raised $1,500 by creating handmade and bound coloring books. All proceeds go to fund art-based community service in the Ledyard Community - Groundbreaking invitations created for Gallup Hill School expansion and renovation project - Groundbreaking invitations created for Ledyard Middle School expansion and renovation project - Hosted a free Mother's Day "Crafternoon" at LHS for student and faculty to paint a planter and plant a flower - Raised $250 for the Ledyard Animal Shelter
